Updating your makeup routine is one of the best ways to gear up for the warmer seasons. Although my makeup doesn’t change a whole lot from season to season, I always love playing with new lip colors to feel fresh-faced and vibrant. Especially right now, adding a little color to my everyday routine helps to brighten my mood while staying at home. One lip product I’ve purchased repeatedly for years is the YSL Rouge Volupté Shine Oil-In-Stick Lipstick. I love trying new colors from the line because of its unique, hydrating texture that melts into the lips. It glides on like a lip balm and creates beautiful a pop of color that keeps the lips nourished all day. The formula is truly top notch in the beauty world – and keeps me going back for more. It’s also a great way to play into one of the biggest spring beauty trends – glossy lips were all over on the spring runways.
You can score my favorite YSL lipstick for up to 20% off through Sephora’s Spring Savings Event using the code “SPRINGSAVE”. I’m purchasing most of my beauty products there now because Sephora rarely ever offers a site-wide discount – plus, I love the fast and free shipping! The event details are as follows:
Rouge Members – Save 20% off your entire purchase beginning 4/17 – 5/1
VIB Members – Save 15% off your entire purchase beginning 4/21 – 4/29
Insider Members (open to everyone) – Save 10% off your entire purchase beginning 4/23 – 4/27
Whether you’re on the hunt for the perfect everyday lip color or playful, saturated hues, the YSL Rouge Volupté Shine Oil-In-Stick Lipstick comes in 30 shades that are perfect for everyone. Here are the new lipstick colors I just picked up and have been reaching for daily.
Nude lipsticks are my favorite for everyday wear because they’re the most forgiving and look the most natural. Lately, I’ve been using Nude Lavalliere (No. 44) because the color matches my natural lips but adds a bit more depth and intensity for the perfect pout. Another great thing about these lipsticks is that they contain hyaluronic acid spheres that hydrate the lips and lock in moisture for up to 8 hours.
Spicy mauve lip colors, inspired by the 90’s are, one of my favorites because of how versatile and flattering they are. Mauve Cuir (No. 86) is bold enough to warm up your daytime look yet subtle enough to pair with sultry, smokey eyes in the evening. I love how this color feels more updated because of the high-shine finish, which is so trendy right now. These lipsticks are infused with 65% oils so they’re naturally glossy.
Coral is the color of spring and translates so well onto the lips. Coral Aviator (No. 81) is the best combination of pink and orange. It leaves a subtle hint of color in one swipe but is buildable for deeper coverage. I recommend this lipstick if you have a hard time wearing brighter colors because the melting formula smooths out lip lines.
If you want to change up your typical nude lipstick, but don’t want to wear something too bright, pink lips are the way to go. Rose Nu (No. 88) has a slightly warm undertone that looks great on everyone. It delivers the right amount of color that looks sophisticated and never feels over the top.
